Pilates

Pilates

Focus: The goal is to learn to be aware of bodily movement and breathing, improve the muscle control, flexibility, coordination and strength, which originates in the body core and is transferred to the periphery; transferring the Pilates principles to everyday life; supporting a healthy lifestyle.

Pilates is a physical fitness system which improves the function of muscle control, flexibility, strength and breathing. The Pilates exercises focus on strengthening muscles in the entire body, in particular deep abdominal and back muscles and pelvic muscles as a support for the backbone, which then becomes less burdened. This is a group fitness exercise with/without aids. The Pilates approach to exercising is highly effective and at the same time demands precision and awareness of the movements. The body grows stronger and more stable, the back straightens and the new way of breathing ensures more oxygen getting into the lungs. The exercises activate deep abdominal muscles, which cannot be exercised in any other way.

Pilates is highly individual, suitable for everyone who feels muscle dysbalance and has incorrect motion stereotypes, is also good in rehabilitation.

Content: Learning and practicing the basic principles of Pilates, a basic set of exercises, using aids such as an overball, toningball, theraband, fitball, bosu, towel and others.

Pilates lessons will take place in the large gym of the Sports Center premises, Jana Babáka 5, Brno. Bring sportswear, a towel and a water bottle; we exercise barefoot.
